Ball Benefits Stricken Kids

The Black Ball, a benefit for the Keep a Child Alive Organization, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York

When the guests at the annual The Black Ball, a benefit for the Keep a Child Alive Organization, entered the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, they were greeted by a screen displaying a seamless mix of live camera images and PowerPoint logos. MB Productions, a video production company, worked with Kingdom Entertainment and Empire Entertainment to produce the fundraiser for AIDS- and poverty-stricken children in Africa. The evening’s chief attraction was a 15-foot-high by 20-foot-wide video image utilizing a double-stacked Digital Projection HIGHlite Projector and displaying videos highlighting the major contributions of special honorees. Celebrities in attendance event included Alicia Keys, Iman, David Bowie and Def Jam Records founder Russell Simmons.
