NEW YORK, NY - Capturing the sights and sounds of the Mega 97.9 FM "Mega Concierto" at Madison Square Garden in New York City is no small feat. The star-studded event features a long list of performers including Salsa legends Jerry Rivera, Oscar D'Leon, Victor Manuelle and Gilberto Santa Rosa, plus up-and-coming Salsa band N' Klabe and Reggaeton artists Wisin y Yandel.
MB Productions provided video production for concert promoter Ralph Mercado of Ralph Mercado Presents and producer Mark Farran of F&K Associates.The event was captured with six Sony D50 cameras with an SDI tlypack with video playback, recording and routing. The camera package included a steadicam rig, 24-footJib, two handheld cameras on stage ,and two FOH cameras with long lenses. The show was recorded for future broadcast on the Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) via five Sony DVW-500 Digi-beta Recorders.
Three 15 foot by 20 foot rear projection screens displayed a mix of live cameras and prerecorded footage and graphics by way of a Grass Valley 1200 SDI switcher. A Folsom Screen Pro Plus fed the projection to enable the technical director to route independent feeds to each screen. Two Digital Projection Thunder 100000Dsxs projectors were displayed on a center screen, and double stacked Digital Projection Highlite 5100gv projectors were displayed on either side of the stage.
An audience of 15,000 people was in attendance at the show.
